Graduation: 4 years of Gingerbread Parade

  For the last four years I have organized the St George Gingerbread House Parade. And this year, I declare that I have graduated from it. Yippee! I will from here on out be supporting the Jubilee of Trees.  This year I plan to make one Christmas Wreath and one Gingerbread House for charity to raise funds for St George Regional Hospital. I totally get it that a lot of people think that the hospital doesn't need our charity because they got money and we lowly people don't. But, let's try to reason why it's good for the community. Because of the philanthropy of the community, it benefits us. The hospital can expand and bring needed services to the area keeping the costs down for us. So, what I am doing is shutting down the nonprofit status of St George Gingerbread House Parade and any remaining funds in the business account will be distributed to a nonprofit in the area as per the rules of the Articles of Inc...

2021 - Christmas Quest, a Selfie Scavenger Hunt

 The St George Gingerbread Parade is in cooperation with Fandom Entertainment to bring St George a Christmas Quest. This gamify experience is available as an app to download on your phone for $6. During your quest or hunt, you solve clues, drive around St George and can win prizes. Usually everything is free here at the Gingerbread Parade , but by teaming up with Fandom Entertainment, we can fundraise for our nonprofit with this app-game and it can support causes we care about. One cause I care about it is bringing fun and entertainment to families and friends here in St George. I'm trying to spread Christmas Cheer and this is one way to do it.  I've already started playing and it's pretty fun so far. I like it because I like games, I like puzzles and it's nice that I have been able to solve these clues. 2021 - Spotlight on St George Children's Museum

Main Street, St George Hours: M, W, Th, F, Sat - 10:00-5:00,  Closed Tuesday and Sunday.  So, if you have read the Origins story of the Gingerbread Parade, or if you have just been living around St George for a while, you know that the St George Children's Museum used to organize the St George Gingerbread Tour. That's how I came to find out about the event. Well, the reason they did the event was to fundraise for the museum. They had volunteer bakers make these incredible gingerbread houses and then businesses up and down Main Street and right downtown St George would host them, and then they would all go back to the museum for an auction.  The problem was, after doing this event for several years, they found that it just cost them more than they bought in.
