Gingerbread Parade - Volunteer Baker Spotlight: Kimberly Jackson

In her own words:

I am really NOT a baker.
I am an artist that was having fun. :)
Last year I did the Tajmahal. Previous to that I just did crazy stuff for Halloween.

Here is a little artsy bio.

Kimberly Jackson has lived in seven states from California to Massachusetts. Her roots are in Indiana where she graduated with a B.A. in Fine Arts from Purdue University, and a BFA in Illustration and Animation from the Art Institute of Boston.

Kimberly has traveled to 49 states, 15 countries, and 3 continents. Always noting that “We are more alike than different,” Kimberly’s early love was graphite landscape. She progressed through oil abstracts (Creating wall-size murals that sold internationally.), acrylic, watercolor, medical illustration using digital renderings, and gouache.

Several years ago Kimberly started to do creative, anatomically correct food dishes for Halloween. Then last year she progressed to the Tajmahal for the Mystery Escape Room, Ginger Bread House Tour. Today she is working on the Ace Hardware Gingerbread House.

Kimberly is legally blind, resides in St. George Utah, where she lives with her ‘perfect’ husband and children.

As mentioned, Kimberly will be assigned to bake and decorate a gingerbread house to be displayed at Ace-Hurst General Store on Bluff Street. It is number 17 on the tour map. The Gingerbread Parade runs December 2 - 14th. It's best to see all the gingerbread houses during the tour at participating businesses to cast votes for your favorites and be entered to win prizes during the Fundraiser event on December 14th at Ancestor Square 1:00-4:00 PM!
