Caitlin Reber assisted by Suzanne Webster - Volunteer Bakers Spotlight

The first graham cracker house
Caitlin and Suzanne will have their gingerbread house on display at Tifiny's Creperie. It will be on display from Monday, Nov 30 - Saturday, Dec 12th. Be sure and see it, vote for it and support local.

Caitlin says: when I was little, my mom would make the most amazing birthday cakes and I started making cakes and desserts when I was in high school.  I took one Wilton cake decorating class but other than that I am YouTube taught.

"A favorite Christmas memory from my childhood in northern Utah was going to the large mall in Salt Lake City where during the Christmas season there would be elaborate displays made of candy in the store windows. I think that inspired my love of gingerbread houses,  and they have been a favorite part of Christmas celebrations as an adult.

"For the first time [two years ago] I donated a couple of (graham cracker) gingerbread houses to Intermountain healthcare’s Jubilee of trees and I am looking forward to this new opportunity to challenge myself for the gingerbread house parade."

Last year Caitlin's gingerbread house was on display at Stephen Wade Honda and it was so cute and charming. It had that classic cottage look - and it had a little red barn made out of red vines - and that had all the little reindeer in it plus she made this big cookie Christmas tree as well. It was definitely the merriest of all. Oh yeah, and she made a Santa and Mrs. Claus figurines out of melted chocolate! Everything was so cute!

Caitlin's other passion is photography. She has a little studio found here - when Covid 19 is a thing of the past - or at least more managed - she hopes to reopen soon :)

This year Caitlin will be assisted by Suzanne Webster and here is a little about her:

Suzanne Webster, Junior Gingerbread Baking Assistant, has enjoyed dabbling in various baking and decorating endeavors as a hobbyist and is partially responsible for inspiring a love of baking, especially holiday baking, in her niece Caitlin. She has aspirations of making Senior Gingerbread Baking Assistant by this time next year, depending on the success of this years gingerbread house.
