Participating Business Spotlight: The Modern Farm & Artisan Co-op

Modern Farm & Artisan Co-op
55 N Main Street
St George, UT 84790
Hours: Wed-Sun 11am - 5pm

The Modern Farm & Artisan Co-op also known as MoFACo is participating in this year's St George Gingerbread House Parade. The gingerbread house will be on display from Monday, November 30th through Saturday, December 12th. Come in and have a look at it and vote for it! It will be made by the founder of the co-op Kat Puzey.

Let me tell you a little something about this store. Everything made and sold at the store is made right here in Utah. Because it's a co-op - you can often find the people working at the store to be the same person that made the cute stickers you bought and that's because each seller takes a turn working the shop. Or you will find Kat working at the store. 100% of every dollar you spend - stays right here in the community. In fact, 85% of every sale goes right back to the farmer, maker or artist. The store has a variety of goods including coffee beans from Super Bloom Coffee, tasty dog treats by Dewey's Dog Treats, hand drawn original art from Rebekah Tucker Fine Art, cool stickers from The Doodling Nomad and more.

The MoFACo store is brand new to Main Street in St George. It has only been at this location for 2 months. In addition to hosting a gingerbread house for the St George Gingerbread House Parade, they will be having their grand opening on Saturday, November 28 - "Small Business Saturday". Come on out and support local. Keep your money right here in this community and feel good.

If you would like to learn more about the store or any of the makers or farmers that have product in the store (or participated in the Downtown Farmers Market), then I recommend listening to the podcast MoFACo Utah - you can find it on iTunes or Spotify. I have already listened to several and it has made it really fun when meeting the artist or farmer in person.

The other important thing to know is that in addition to this brick and mortar location, Kat Puzey, is the person behind keeping alive the Downtown Farmers Market (open May-Oct) and the annual Holiday Market at Ancestor Square. This year the Holiday Market is Saturday December 12 and it run's 1pm - 4pm. The St George Gingerbread House Parade will have a booth there. We will be giving out prizes to the first 100 kids that have collected stamps at each participating business location. Collect all 14 stamps and show us on your map to receive a prize.
