Some features of the resident apartments include studio, one or two-bedroom apartments, emergency pull cord call system, large bathroom and showers, large kitchenettes, 24 hours security, large patio or balcony and then some! This facility has all-day restaurant-style dining with no specific seating times and includes a salad bar and patio dining. This facility also provides outings to Walmart and other fun activities on a regular basis as well as regular live entertainment for the residents.
I recently went to visit The Haven at Sky Mountain to take a short tour, meet some of the residents and see where they would display their gingerbread house. I was very impressed with the facilities and the attentive care the residents received. The residents are kind to each other and treat each other as friends. One artist resident, Johannes Michalski had several of his paintings on display in the main gathering room and was signing his book for fellow residents. This resident has a "disability" because he has no arms - but it hasn't stopped him from painting realistic art. I couldn't even tell that he had done it all with a paintbrush from his mouth. Here is a selection of photos I took from my visit. Sadly, I just learned of the artist's death today. You can read about him here in this article.

This is my favorite painting on display. |

Notice the attention to detail - all painting with a brush from his mouth! |

The Haven at Sky Moutain is listed as number 19 on our tour map. It is considered a bonus entry because they are outside of St George, but we are happy they chose to participate in this great cause. They will be making, baking and decorating their own gingerbread house this year. Be sure and stop by between December 2-13, to see their gingerbread house in person, vote for it to be entered to win prizes during the fundraiser event on December 14 at the Holiday Market at Ancestor Square, St George, and be sure and visit with the residents. They enjoy meeting and greeting with us this time of year 😊
