Its’ mission is three-fold:  (1) To help provide a continuing funding source for the operations at the Homeless Shelter and Community Resource Center, (2) to provide an 4 week job training program for those in the community who are in need of additional job skills, (3) to re-purpose use-able household and clothing items donated by the community and offer those items at affordable prices to the public.

If you are looking for some great Christmas decorations and are on a budget or just "smart" with your money - check out this great Thriftstore. I have bought lots of cute ones this season for a fraction of what they would cost new. And the best part is - the money stays right here in our community helping some of the most vulnerable among us. I can't think of anything more appropriate this time of year than to help those in need.

Switchpoint Thriftstore is listed as number 18 on our tour map. Be sure and visit during the Gingerbread Parade to vote for the gingerbread house on display which will be made by volunteer baker: Katelyn of Cracked Cookie Co. and be entered to win cool prizes during our Fundraiser - Gingerbread Auction held during the Holiday Market sponsored by the Downtown Farmers Market on December 14, 1:00-4:00 PM at Ancestor Square. Proceeds from the Gingerbread Auction will benefit the St George Children's Museum.

2021 - Spotlight on Fabulous Freddy's Car Wash

I guess I wasn't contacting the right person, because this year, they reached out to me. Whoo hooo. I have always been a fan of Fab Freddy's because I'm sort of lazy when it comes to vacuuming my car out. I'm not lazy when it comes to organizing this event, writing blog posts, or baking. But if it's cleaning related, I'm not a fan. Except for dishes, I like that chore, oddly.  Anyway, I'm grateful that there are many carwashes around St George, because we live in this hot desert and water is a commodity, I'm grateful that these car washes recycle the water and they are good to have around. Financial Reports have been updated

I want you to know that when you donate to help this small organization - just how I use the funds is outlined every year. We kept it a bit smaller in 2022 - but still managed to pull off a fun community event. It was great that we partnered with Downtown Farmers Market and then later with MoFACo- the Modern Farm and Artisan Co-op. We were able to do a free community showcase during the last Farmers Market of the season at Vernon Worthen Park. And then during the week just before and after Christmas, MoFACo at 55 N Main Street in St George hosted the gingerbread contest. The winner was Amber Empey of St George. She submitted 4 gingerbread creations and all of them were awesome. We had over 250 visitors come in and vote. Thank you community for coming out to support this annual event.
